I may buy the upgrade though because the software is absolutely spectacular. I updated a few times but ended up screwing myself over. I use a standalone version - the exact exe that was linked in my purchase receipt. I'm not sure if it's stored in the registry or what. Just food for thought when it feels overprotective with the verification. It's like a phrase in a phrase inception thing.įrom an end user perspective it feels inconsiderate to demand proof of purchase multiple times, but the amount of illegal cracked versions of this kind of thing is a nightmare for developers. I actually made a phrase of the phrase express key. I blocked it in the Windows Firewall after I bought it and kinda forgot about my registration. I love Phrase Express and I get what you're saying. Sometimes the anti-piracy coding consumes more time than the software. Pirating hits small companies hard and the only way around it is to be a bit more strict. It's tricky to evolve into a pay-to-use program with internet verification. Like I need it to be repeated 3 times, I went to update months later and then you want $ to renew maintenance! GARBAGE company to deal with! BTW I still 2 years later have to restart your shit app multiple time a day by connecting a second mouse to the mac and restart your app! How about this! Check you email! Check you email! Check you email! Please collect the debug files of ALL(!) computers in the email, not just of one computer. Please collect the debug files of ALL(!) computers in the email, not just of one computer. Please collect the debug files of ALL(!) computers in the email, not just of one computer.Best wishesBartels Media Support I know this is old but your support is worse then poor, I came to y'all with an issue on your ShareMouse software and you blamed it on AV software on my Mac which I do not have!!!!! I let you know this and crickets! no response! You asked for debug info from both my computers and I sent 2 emails one from the PC and the other from my Mac and was met with a rude response But I hope it is helpful to you in some way. This already took 15 minutes to write, and I don't really have any interest in spending more time on it. So that's worth something I guess, even though I use AHK too. Others might say that what I do with it is something that autohotkey could easily do and why did I pay so much for it, but with the program, I don't have to go through a long script to make changes. So I don't try to do anything fancy with it. My version and set up works for me now, and I try to keep it that way so I don't have to seek support. I think there is a place to discuss macros now. That was a long time ago, I cannot remember the details. There was one at one point but then it was shut down. I learned so much from Xyplorer forums, Everything forums, and so on. I haven't looked recently, but for a long time there was a lack of a forum for user discussion as well- in a tool like this, people can discover all kinds of useful examples and tricks from each other. I thought there was a lot of defensiveness, aggressiveness and just a lack of interest in working together. I was bothered by the general approach/tone/attitude towards supporting users in accomplishing their goals. Ultimately it wasn't that there was this single problem that was never solved. There is no point in writing a long post listing all the various events- context is lost, situations change. My opinion was formed over several years, first as a free user then as a paid user after I decided to invest in the program.
