In effect, it will be reviving a little tradition that had begun before COVID struck. The choir will also be taking part in the Christmas carol service at St Luke’s Church in Shireoaks on Sunday 12th December. Any money raised as a result will be given to the Poplars as a thank you to the Poplars Church for its support. It will be part performance and part rehearsal – a sort of peek behind the scenes. Members of the public will be able to hear the choir one Thursday morning in December at The Golden Ball in Worksop, exact date to be confirmed. In the meantime, if you’re missing The Musicality Singers, there are a couple of opportunities to hear them before Christmas. That will be a disappointment for those who remember in particular the pre-COVID concert that featured Santa and the elf, songs sung backwards and one song to the tune of another! There will, however, be concerts again next year – and who knows what might have been dreamed up by then. ![]() Sadly, the choir won’t be offering one of its hugely entertaining Christmas concerts this year. The Thursday morning practices in Worksop at The Golden Ball (the home of the Poplars Church) will be continuing until the Christmas break and resuming again in early January. Singers by Critics Vocal Rating STAR - Incredible technical proficiency marked by performance consistency and intonation accuracy as well as great musicality. Rusty or not, though, for a lot of choir members, it felt good to be back together singing. To begin with many people in the choir felt they had become rusty after such a long time apart, but as the practices went on the rust began to flake away and the shine started to reappear. The choir has held a number of practices that have covered some familiar pieces and introduced some new works. The Musicality Singers are getting back on track. ![]()
